It's that time again. Time for Skull King Mongoose to release another album that only five people in the world will hear. We do our best, damn it! Anyway, the excursion is more acoustic, woody, wider and foggy than anything we've done before. To give the album a thread by which to compose by, we invented a little storyline, one that hopefully enhances the listening quality. The synopsis is as follows:- A small town on the edge of the sea is warned of dangers that the forces of nature can bring. The people leave for their own safety and vanity but after a while they foolishly believe that the sea is nothing to fear. They return and start getting complacent. The recent activity drums up the community to regale stories and songs about the sea, and they eventually fall asleep, dreaming about all they had experienced and heard that day. They are soon woken up in the middle of the night by a mysterious light in the sky - a comet! They look at it in wonder and fear as it disappears into the horizon. The comet strikes the earth and the people are left with nothing but the knowledge that a cataclysmic disaster is about to happen. We are spared the actual devastation and destruction, and instead join the remaining humans after the event as they scratch their heads and wonder how this could have happened. We are planning on producing proper CDs for this, completely with covers and inlays. Also, you will be able to download the album from iTunes at some point. You can hear it on the SKM main page. It is the first twelve songs. I will post a blog when the whole album is available to purchase or download. Skull King Mongoose.
2nd album released

Sarcosuchus by Skull King Mongoose This is by far my most experimental release to date. It is also by far the most second release to date. The pieces were made using only my guitar and my bass, accompanied by numerous objects which I inserted into the guitar a la John Cage. I also named the tracks after prehistoric animals as I felt extinct beast weren't being properly represented in the music scene. The cover is only temporary. Phil

Thanks for adding me. 'Temple In Ruin' is really beautiful.
-----THANKS FOR THE ADD!------- Your music is awesome. I would pay at least $25 for all 26 of those songs you have on your homepage if you put them on a CD with no artwork(I'd pay even more if there was a booklet with artwork). And just so you know "Patrol" is amazingly annoying while retaining awesomeness and I love the rich sounds of "Hard Boiled Egg". Keep it up! You're awesome!!
