Vic Sadot is a singer-songwriter from Newark, DE based in Berkeley, CA since 2008. Vic has fronted an original folk-rock & blues band called Crazy Planet and a Cajun/Zydeco band called Planete Folle. He has a repertoire that can be done solo that is a mix of original topical political ballads, such as Cheney's in the Bunker about 9/11, Mad Cowboy Disease about the war machine, Nightmare of New Orleans about the criminally negligent response to Hurricane Katrina, The Ballad of Pat Tillman, Courage To Resist about war crimes whistle-blower Bradley Manning, Oh What A Day about Occupy Wall Street, and An Act of State: The Execution of Martin Luther King based on the book by William Pepper. There are romantic poetic songs in Vic's mix, such as White Clay Creek, The Swans on Smalley's Pond, Harbor of Love, and Dearest Lady. Vic's most recent CD, "9/11 Truth & Justice Songs" was released on Sept 11, 2011. Before that came "Broadsides & Retrospectives" in 2005. Hello Friends! I recently started a Broadside Balladeer Blog at MySpace.com I put up such things as the following: lyrics for The Ballad of William Rodriguez and the link to his website where you can hear my song about his 9/11 story; on Mardi Gras Day I posted the English and French lyrics to my Bourbon Street/Rue Bourbon song; I posted my tribute song to Phil Ochs, Broadside Balladeer, a 1982 article I wrote for Broadside magazine on Phil Ochs FBI File, and a link to the "No More Songs" Phil Ochs global on-line discussion group; and the lyrics and chords to The Kidnapping Coup about the 2004 overthrow of democracy in Haiti by the Bush administration with links to various sites to explore the subject.
