The Thought Collective was founded in 1999, by Beau McNaboe also known as "The Catalyst". It was at his highschool Fort Hayes in Columbus Ohio he met Reggie Dunlap(Npayshint), another aspiring rapper the two became fast friends writing rhymes together in study hall. Before they knew it the rap duo gained respect around the school. Soon after that they were joined by a fellow classmate eNPHANATe. The three came up with the name "The Thought Collective", because everyone had a different rap style that came together for a unique style. Kyle Reissland better known as Meta4ce Omega was the next to join the group after he heard the three perform at a Rap Expo in 2000. Nickname(Mike Watkins) who was good friends with the crew was the last to join the group in 2003 when Catalyst heard him rap which caught him off guard. Beau made Mike join the group and the first song they recorded together was "Thought Set Anthem".
