Black Shepherd Records is an indie label that was established October 2007 in Newport News, VA by entrepreneur Michael A. Watson Jr. Black Shepherd Records name originated from the creativity of the word “Black”, meaning dominant and the word “Shepherd”, meaning a person who protects, guides, or watches over a person or group of people.
Black Shepherd Records seeks locally talented artists that will bring their own sense of style and creativity to today’s competitive music industry. In accordance with searching for locally talented artists, Black Shepherd Records number one goal is to stand behind their artists, being true to them, providing them with a great amount of promotional marketing tools so that their music can be heard.
