The Yeti Crew:
MC. Rebel -Tenzing Choephel;
Renegade Momo- Tenzing Kunchyap;
T. Phuntsok- T. Phuntsok (he's not original lol).....
The Yeti Crew started in 2007, but they always envisioned a crew earlier on. In '99 when the Tibetan Basketball tournaments were BIG, Choephel and Kunchyap started to form a basketball team of their own. The team was called the "Brooklyn Yetis'" and had other players, outside of Brooklyn, join their roster. However, the practices were grueling, and disputes within the team led to a disbandment of the yetis. Then in '04, Choephel and Kunchyap met upstair's neighbor, T.Phuntsok, and formed a genuine friendship with him. The Yeti's took form again, when the music aspirations of all three members started to gain speed. In '05, Choephel's rap persona, MC. Rebel, came alive; as he started experimenting with different rap techniques and wrote down eveything he felt passionate about; namely his country, Tibet, and the forced occupation of the Chinese Communist Party. Kunchyap, took the rap persona of Renegade Momo, and a similar route to what he wrote down; distinguished by his laid back "old school" type of rhymes, Renegade Momo told stories, reminiscent of the days of Dana Dane and Slick Rick. T. Phuntsok, is a songwriter and singer whose yet to express himself fully, but his potential is evident in his lyrics.
