The Retrofits was a Canadian 'Classic Rock' duo comprised of Martin Barret & Matthew Marren that was active from September of 2003 to April of 2007.
Matthew and Martin were old school chums that managed to stay in contact over the years until Martin's wife, Nancy, suggested that they pair up and start gigging together musically.
Matthew had just begun to excel in piano while Martin, due to his years of teaching guitar, was developing his lead playing skills and both formed a duo showcasing their abilities as well as their own songwriting skills.
Nancy, Martin's wife, joined the duo with some keyboard and acoustic guitar playing while joining the boys on harmonies and even took some leads now and then.
NOT OUR DAY JOB was the only CD released by The Retrofits. The song featured 12 original numbers - half by Martin & half by Matthew. All songs were mastered and remixed by Martin Barret and in January of 2005, the CD was available (and still is) on CDbaby.com.
