Coming up with the cows on his familys farm in Coventry, Connecticut, RhymeZwell (a.k.a. Tucker Wood) is definitely not your typical rapper. Raised by two loving parents, including one accomplished musician, RhymeZwell avoided guns and gang-banging and instead spent over a decade developing true lyricism in the spirit of hip-hops forefathers.
By 11-years-old, hip-hop had infected his soul, surrounded by the sounds of Tupac, Nas, Snoop Dogg, NWA, Cypress Hill and the Notorious BIG. Mama RhymeZwell was supportive of her sons talent, but not of explicit lyrics, and so a close cousin often educated RhymeZwell through smuggled mix-tapes. He learned to write hard-hitting rhymes that left an impact on his audience, without the need to fill his lyrics with gratuitous violence and curse words.
With not much to do in a tiny rural town, RhymeZwells first venues were house parties and keggers deep in the Connecticut woods. Even still, freestyle battles were common and fierce, preparing RhymeZwell for what lay ahead. In addition to lyrical proficiency, RhymeZwell is no stranger to the stage. He started performing early on at talent shows, spitting rhymes written over instrumental singles. RhymeZwell immediately embraced his passion for performing before crowds, confident and comfortable in the spotlight. "Thats the way Ive always been. I like to walk in and take control of the room."
From college campuses to the Dirty South, there is a universal appreciation and respect for RhymeZwe
