Twenty-three year old hip hop guru, Shangrila is an artist on the verge of changing the face of hip hop as we now know it. Through his independent label, Epitimy Records, Shangrila is taking hip hop to highs beyond where the imagination can lead. The word Shangrila means utopia, or a fictional paradise on earth. However, the artist who holds that name along with the music which he creates is a paradise that is as real as it gets.
Shangrila’s passion for making music began at a very early age. He started writing music at the age of 9, and by age 12 was playing the keyboard and making his own beats. He has continued to work on his musicality, bringing him to a level of excellence only very few can achieve.
His amazing skills on the keyboard, guitar and drums allow him to produce and perform music several levels above that of most artists of today. Shangrilas smooth voice and lyrical styling entice both hip hop and R&B lovers far and wide. He is able to combine his skills creatively and has amazed audiences by rapping while accompanying himself on the keyboard during performances. Whether on stage, or in the studio, Shangrila consistently exhibits amazing skills. Not only is he a phenomenal creator of music, but his high taste in music has allowed him to excel as a nightclub DJ as well.
Shangrila has been building a loyal fan base rapidly. His hit song, Cant Wait, featuring upcoming R&B sensation Keanon Sean has been receiving airplay on 93.7 WBLK, Buffalos number one
