Jim O'Baid was born and raised in Brooklyn, NY and was singing from the age of 2. During his teens he was involved in do-wop with his group The Montclairs. It was just a local group for the purpose of attracting the female of the species. He didn't get involved in music professionally until 1974 when he joined the Disco Show group "Manhattan Heights". he toured the U.S. with that group for a few years then in 1980 started to learn how to write songs. In 1981 he had a few songs published in Nashville and the following year moved there with his wife. The time spent in Nashville has been a great learning experience. Jim has hosted songwriters nites and worked as a journalist/reviewer for Music Row magazine. He has also managed other artists and worked as a song plugger. Jim is now concentrating on his writing and his artistry and at the same time is a student (recording engineering) at Volunteer State College in Gallatin, TN. In June of '09 Jim Volunteered to be a DJ for the college radio station. He can now be heard from 6-9am on Thursday mornings playing oldies and from from 6-10:30am on Saturdays playing a mix of oldies and indie artists from around the world.

Hi Jim Many thanks for adding me as a friend. Listening to 'Life's A Highway' right now. Great sound, love the rhythm and the fiddle and the blues harp which comes in near the end. Really upbeat song, love it. I also liked 'When I Remember How To Fly'. Geoff
