Preaching to the Choir ’Preaching to the Choir’ is an album by hip-hop artist Khary WAE Frazier. The album includes the single “Grown Man Business” and was released in June of 2008. The songs on the record have unique production and WAE’s creative/ aggressive lyricism. “Preaching to the Choir speaks to the economics in my community. From start to finish every song is about what we got in my hood’ and what we don’t got,” Khary WAE Frazier. Meaning Behind: Preaching to the Choir “I had an awakening writing the songs to the album. The emotions behind songs like; “Bobby Seale,” “Running Rebel,” and “12th Street,” has to be what a preacher feels on Sunday morning. Furthermore I am the Choir and the Preacher and I’m converting my thoughts back to the pressing issues of my community.” Khary WAE Frazier Preach- to urge acceptance or abandonment of an idea or course of action. Verb Choir- an organized group of persons, or a group organized for ensemble speaking. Noun Preaching is not limited to religious views, but it extends to moral and social world-views as well. Preachers are common throughout most cultures. The point of preaching is to inform or convince the hearer of a certain world-view or belief. For this reason, many nonreligious persons shun preachers and accuse them of forcing beliefs on people. Preaching also serves as reminders and encouragements to people who already subscribe to the preacher's beliefs. For many, the term preacher is derogatory, while some consider it an honor. Preaching to the choir is an English idiom that means a person is trying to convince or persuade another person or group to believe in or agree with something that they already believe in or agree with. Preaching to the choir, preaching to the chorus, and preaching to the converted are all similar idioms with the same meaning, but preaching to the choir is the most commonly used.
