Formed in mid-2000, the Foo Fighters/Smashing Pumpkins-influenced band primarily performed originals at their very beginning, which culminated in a couple of independent cassette releases and the 9-track EP "Food Rock" in summer 2002, with original lineup consisting of Emmanuel "Daboy" De Leon on drums, Paul Alpez on bass and Clifford Jongko on guitar and vocal. Paul then left the band during "Food Rock" promotion. A new lineup then formed in late 2002, with Ely Alvarez on bass and Lubert Eudela on guitar. The band continued gigging intermittently until summer 2003, when they began production on their EP. The concept was to "make the densest record" they can make. During the sessions, before even recording his tracks, Daboy went on "vacation" and the remaining three continued work on what eventually became the "Short Order" EP. After mastering the EP, the band went on hiatus due to being unable to find a substitute drummer. Clifford, Ely and Lubert went on to form Fun Army in 2006, which only lasted less than a year. During this time, Clifford also formed The Science Project with another Fun Army member, Henry Bacani. The band eventually broke up. Now, Daboy and Lubert are currently working overseas, Ely has a solo project and Clifford plays guitar with Squeezers, a Taguig-based indie band. All Pancakes members communicate and collaborate remotely using the internet, and is working on at least two different releases within the next two years.
