80’s ROCK MEETS 90’s COUNTRY MUSIC!!!!! Derek Herman has blended his own influences from the 80’s rock scene to the music he came to love in the 90’s. It’s edgy and catching the ears of a much younger crowd. Derek came to Nashville in 2001 when offered a job with CSXT Railroad but it didn't take long to figure out it was the music that brought him to Nashville. Derek grew up country and will always be country. He’s worked on a dairy farm, cut timber and spent 8 years serving his country in the United States Marine Corps. But now in Nashville, Derek is pursuing the ultimate dream. When not working to support his family you’ll find Derek writing, rehearsing, making phone calls and letting anyone listen to his music that will listen. Derek has had songs pitched to Major Label artists and has several songs publishers interested in his work. Derek played the writers seen for his first three years in Nashville and after feeling he was missing something he hit the road and started playing shows with a band.
Heading into his second year on the road, Derek has taken what he has learned and started putting it to work. 2006 is looking better and better and Derek is gearing up for what should be a great year. Derek has shows booked in 2006 to open for Ty Herndon, David Lee Murphy, Lee Roy Parnell and Keith Bryant.
