I'm a programmer by trade...but I was attuned to classical music since the womb and from ages 8 to 12 I was mostly about rock and roll. Such artists and groups as Billy Joel, The Supremes, The Beatles, Elvis, etc were in my collection. During that time I also started enjoying some R&B and Alternative such as Barry White and Bush respectively. In the confusion over Bush's single Machinehead and the band Machine Head, I accidentally purchased Machine Head's album Burn My Eyes. And therein that music came my transition. I sought out more music of the like, and the second metal album to grace my ears enough to be bought was Megadeth's Youthanasia. That cassette was too warped to listen to within a few months. It was all I listened to. I went from metal to metal, thrash to death, grind to black, speed to hardcore and even a little nu over the years, but no band's music could take me away like Megadeth could. I later found Testament and to this day like both bands almost equally. Testament more for their earlier music. Yes I know they sound very similar at times, but I have very particular taste when it comes to metal anymore. I recently have moved back to classical, but retain liking almost all music. Rap isn't included in my definition of music.
Since age 12 I have played and written music, and I don't intend to stop...my deathbed will include musical instruments.
