Derek Freeman aka D. Free born and raised in the slums of eastside Indianapolis better known as Nap town. Growing up in the popular 4-block neighborhood of 46th and Arlington proved to be difficult for the rapper/producer. Despite his surroundings and money situations in the household DFree found art as an outlet at an early age. Little did he know that the inspiration from a musically talented fa...ther, and other family members such as Wes Montgomery and William Bridgeforth, would soon open his eyes to the world of music. At the young age of 6 he moved to began free styling but it was in high school where his talent really began to shine. He began experimenting with studio software and pretty soon he became a master at making raw, energetic, hip-hop beats that caught the ears of his classmates and those residing in the hoods of Nap town. He began collaborating with rappers such as Big Twamp, and many others that were aching to get their foot in the rap game. He has also gained respect in Atlanta ,Ga and the Houston TX underground scene with the help of fellow rappers Myron Keys aka King Tut , Profitt D , Sam B,and Chedda Chapp With the release of his label I MADE THE BEAT PRODUCTIONS and self-entitled debut album with hits such as Hood Eye Candy, I Give Her Long D#*K, Cuz I’m a Baller
