I grew up in Memphis, went to Tiger High (Memphis State University) in both undergraduate and law school, and practiced law there for 14 years before moving to the Smoky Mountains of North Carolina, near the Cherokee Indian reservation. I miss the live blues music of Beale Street in Memphis, but love the abundance of live, authentic bluegrass here, where artists like the legendary Doc Waston live.
