Current mood: Pensive Current weather: warm 26°C, cloudy Current listening: erm, nothing at the moment Beltane, or Bealtaine, or however you call it. comes to the northern hemisphere. It definitely has been summery here. Life is moving at a brisk pace. So it is also in my personal life, with new developments coming into play and my life moving forward. Usually this time of year is not my thing, those who have followed my blog know that I'm a winter person. Lately, though, I've been more at peace, which I suppose is appropriate in this time of spring and summer. As usual, I acknowledge the opposing cycles--in the southern hemisphere the opposite position of the wheel is active, as Samhain comes into play--the time of endings. What has been sown is now reaped, and life will retreat for the winter cycle. For myself, things that pertain to my life now will come to fruition in their time. I know this is a short one, but there are changes afoot in my life, and my presence here at Soundclick will be limited--okay, it will continue to be limited--a lot of things are in flux in my life at the moment, but I thought I would be remiss if I didn't put in at least a token effort at my usual seasonal blog entry. Yes, some good things are potentially coming, so don't worry too much about me. :D Light and dark blessings, -DL
Current mood: pensive (again, I'm a thinky person, eh?) Current weather: clear, warm Current listening: Spiral Dance Spring has sprung, and early--but is it going to stay this way? It never does, really, but we'll see. Still, in this time of balance, life is returning. With the return of life comes renewal, and new plans for the future even as the world renews itself. Not many people think in terms of such things, ironically in this modern world with everything accelerating forward into the future, with new discoveries or something new to experiment with every year, but on a more personal level this is how one rolls--or how I roll at least. The equinox is a time of balance, with spring in the northern hemisphere and the autumnal season in the southern hemisphere. It is new life coming or old life receding, depending. Life is in balance now, and so it is a time to ponder that and think about where it is going, and where the current (and next) cycle will lead. Things end so that new things can begin. Thus is life always new and moving forward, evolving with the things that it brings upon itself. Consider this and your growth will in your own hands. Light and dark blessings to all, - DL
Current mood: pensive Current weather: rain Current listening: Inkubus Sukkubus The seasons pass, and this brings the time of Imbolc to the northern hemisphere. The local climate can be unpredictable this time of year though. It can be warm and springlike, even almost summery, or cold at wet. Currently it is in cold mode. Winter still has its hold, for now, as it is in most of the temperate northern hemisphere. Spring will arrive, though, and with it the promise of a new cycle, and new beginnings for a new future. There are promises forthcoming for me personally in my life this year as well; I may discuss them in this blog if and when they come to their fruition. The southern hemisphere is now in the in the summer cycle, progressing toward autumn and fruition. What was sown will be reaped. In setting things into motion, one must nurture one's goals just as one does for everything else. Through care, all things grow. So, there may be new hope. I just need to hang on. Yes, this was more personal than most blog entries of this sort for me. I'm just expressing the need to take care of myself more. The opportunities are coming. Blessings to all, - DL
Current mood: pessimistic Current weather: clear Current listening: Brobdingnagian Bards Another year is ending; actually in many time zones the new year has already begun. I'm not an optimistic person. It seems that the world gets itself deeper into its own mire every year. As the years go by I am more convinced that human civilization will not last long. Likely civilization as we know it will be extinct within my own lifetime. Are we going to squander four billion years of evolution over the fulfillment of our own greed and self-righeousness? Yes, you've heard it before, some of you might have said it before, but is anyone really listening? I for one am convinced that it truly is only after the last tree has been cut, and the rest of that catalogue, that the elite will come to realize that one cannot eat money. Aside from that, there are too many people in power who desire nothing over, well, power, power for the sake of dominion. Either way, the world just can't go on this way. The new year is traditionally a time of optimism. By tradition we have a clean slate and a fresh start on another cycle through the ages. The world has survived another year--that is what we celebrate when we celebrate the new year--but how much longer can the world survive? The choice lies with each individual. Everyone contributes, one way or the other. How will you vote? Blessings, - DL
