Band/artist history
MekRokieV initiates at the end of 2004 like an acoustic solo-project, experimenting with covers of The Sisters of Mercy and Sanguis et Cinis. At the end of 2005 Tränen joins the project and begins a new course; recording covers, composing original tracks and having a few live presentations, counting on stage support from Charls (Guitar) and Chuck (bass); both from the electronic project, V- efFect. In 2006 the recording of the first six-track demo is launched, with 4 original tracks and a version of Dionysos, (originally from the Austrian band, Sanguis et Cinis), as well as a version of Bela Lugosi’s dead, (originally from Bauhaus). From 2006 to present time, MekRokieV has appeared in various parts of Mexico, along with bands like: Nietzsche’s Bitch, Acid Bats, Evilmoon Project, La voz de tus Ausentes and many other local bands. In addition, they were offered, and took the opportunity, of being the opening act for the American band, Cinema Strange. In April of 2008, the first auto-production album is published, with the title ‘Saint StRa’- It contains 10 Tracks; 9 new songs and one re-recorded from the demo. Following this release, Charls and Chuck became permanent members of the project.
