Mehrdad Palizban is a Rock/Metal Musician. He (Vocal, Guitar) founded "aavaar" (literally: rubble, debris) with Sina Khodayeefar (Bass) and Hossein Shahsavand (Drums) in 1999.Band/artist history
Mehrdad Palizban (Vocal, Guitar) founded "aavaar" (literally: rubble, debris) with Sina Khodayeefar (Bass) and Hossein Shahsavand (Drums) in 1999. The band entered the Iranian Rock scene by taking part in the first underground Rock festival in the country (Tehran Avenue Underground).
Mehrdad Palizban's first success was "Asemoon" (the sky), the soundtrack for the motion picture, "Nafas-e-Amigh". "Asemoon", composed by M. Palizban, was nominated for Best Music in Tandis-e-Hafiz and Critics' Choice awards by Donya-ye-Tasvir and Film magazines respectively. Due to numerous problems, including compulsory military service for the members, "Aavaar" went silent for 3 years. But in 2005, M. Palizban and Sina Khodayeefar joined hands with Pouya Ehsaee (Guitar) and Behnam Biabangardi (Drums) to restart "Aavaar's" activities once again. After difficult and frequent preparations and follow-up Aavaar performed in Conservatory of Tehran. This was met with a lot of positive enthusiasm and the band's activities entered a new era that moment onwards. Aavaar's next public appearance was on May 23, 2006, at the "Yousef Islam" (Cat Stevens) Rock festival. Despite numerous problems, Aavaar's excellent performance was acclaimed by the audience. At this stage, Sina Khodayeefar's personal problems prevented him to continue and instead, Sohrab Motabar acted as Aavaar's new well-performing bassist. Aavaar performed the last concert on August 6, 2006, in Rahil University, together with Mavara Band. Due to many problems, such as band members leaving the country, Aavaar went to another silent after 2006.
Right now, Mehrdad Palizban is working on a solo project in Australia to maintain his artistic life far from all the censorship in Iran.Have you performed in front of an audience?Conservatory of Tehran, 2005
