Band/artist history
MC J.D. is one of the most recognized MCs in Toronto’s flourishing drum‘n’bass/jungle scene and has been rocking stages since the early 1990’s. JD’s quick fast lyrics and smooth ragga flow are sure to get any dance floor jumpin’. Not only does he have an amazing flow but a stage presence second to none. His versatility, originality, creativity and a style which many cannot duplicate or imitate puts him on top as one of North America’s premier drum and bass/jungle mc’s.
Born and raised in Brampton, JD has been active in Toronto’s music scene since the early years and is now sought out by many rave promoters and is a favorite for drum and bass jungle nights around Toronto and North America.
JD is a regular MC for top Toronto locals and has mcd for international talent such as Kenny Ken, Stakka and Skynet, Mampi Swift, Ellis Dee, Nicky Blackmarket, Shy FX, Congo Natty Crew just to name a few. He hasalso worked along side such MCs’ as Navigator, Shabba D, Skibadee, MC MC, Eksman and a slew of other.
JD has recently teamed up with many artists within Canada, U.S.A and the U.K. Other current projects consist of being featured on an album to with Tej Gill and E=MC of the UntouchablesUK Label also working with Nav Sarao and 22k Asiam Empire. Currently JD works with Destiny Productions aka DAMN! Management, DubplateSpecial Recordings and is filming 2 videos.
With residencies at some of the premier hot spots in Toronto (System Soundbar, Fez Batiq, The Guvernment ) and being a resident MC for all of the large drum and bass events in Toronto he is sure to get you pumped up and ready to roll when he steps inside the dance!
