My Name is Matt Tankersley, I'm a musician and have a disorder known as schizoaffective disorder(A Cross of Schizophrenia, Bi-Polar, and Panic Disorder). My mental illness and it's effects on my life and lifestyle have formed the music that I make and the music I listen to, a mirage of notes and noises to tweak the mind into finding it's one self. This is my music.... From the ashes of all the cigarettes I smoked while listening to Indie records full of sounds that only a disturbed mind would enjoy, but not the mind that scares people, the mind that loves to much. This Music is for me and any of those who've lived with what I have and don't have.
Well the band is in it's 3rd stage of line-up changes, originally formed as DestinedForDirt back in the Winter of 2005 in Matt Tankersley's Upstairs Aparment, but this time it's back to the old school originals. We're thinking the band is going to be called Apagenrethetic at this point, it's meaning... that you'll have to figure out yourself. Harley Adams has rejoined the band again, and is finally ready to start doing the thing full on. So we're back where we started only way further along musically and in the creative process. With the addition that we finally have mic's to record tracks with, and Matt Tankersley working on synth bass and drums. We're ready to get this thing going. If anyone is interested in being the bassist or drummer just contact us. But things weren't always this way.... (Dramatic Effect)
The Destined for Dirt project in it's 2nd reincarnation, with Josh Bryant, failed due to creative differences and also because I went back to West Virginia. So much for that little period of jamming.
In the begining we had an idea, and shit happened that seperated Matt and Harley musically, but the shit was fake, like the world we live in, and the way most people act. And now, the idea is something that is more than just an idea, it's a feeling. Our Feeling.
In the end, it's music, our music... If you don't understand it, you may never, or maybe it would just take a little time. It's Psychedelic Indie, Trip Rock, the way the indie bands that influenced it sounded to us. If you like it, please support us by downloading some songs and buying some cd's. All cd's come hand autographed! Who knows how much those will be worth later on?
