Honest rap. Anybody in a pink jumpsuit need not apply, unless of course you are man enough to wear it without checking with your friends every ten minutes. ------------------------------------------------- "A fine collection of bad dubs. I'm just glad it exists." -EPL
Band/artist history
Me and FLIP made a record. It's doper than yours. He's my brother. He has children and a wife. His beats are great and one time...a really long time ago...these kids dared him to drop in on a mini ramp. He wasn't a ramp kind of guy, but if he did it, the dude who dared him told him that if he had the balls to do it, he'd give Flip a Variflex vert board. (Don't laugh...Variflex had dope vert boards back then) Anyway, Flips deck was robbed. The thing had two inches of tail. Flip went to the top and put his skateboard in the drop in position...homeboy did it!!! He actually did it!!! The celebration didn't last...he lost his balance by the time he got to the flat and he fell back doing 90. He hit the ground and the whole ramp shook. (note: it was six foot and mad solid) Everybody stopped talking and we all ran over to him. His eyes were bulged out and he gasped for air for ten minutes. After it was all over, we laughed, but Flip was sore because he didn't get to ride home on a new board. Then... I got married, moved to Los Angeles, had twins, became a professional, and made love with my first love: Rock N' Roll. A decade later I'm back and since things haven't changed I made more songs.
Have you performed in front of an audience?
I do my best work in the privacy of your headphones. ________ * ___________________________________
Your musical influences
I like a lot of groups, but I'm not sure if I can say that they influenced me. I mean...I don't play guitar like Jack White. In fact, I don't even play a guitar. Not good anyway, but I'm learning. Hip Hop wise? I only listen to the same bunch of guys that were poppin' in the 90's... Black Moon, Co Flow, MF, Atmosphere... (but don't tell any of those cats that I can't dig their new stuff.) Qwel however is still bringing heat. Doomalay is too, but that's a given.
What equipment do you use?
One Fostex Analog 4 track, One ASR 10. One over populated apartment. Plenty of stress, heartbreak. cigarettes. Love/hate. Poverty. Failiure. Success. Wealth... And a dedication to the arts. Garageband (solo)
Anything else?
Do all that you can to support anybody who makes quality hip hop music. Right now, alot of the wrong people are being recognized. Peace to FLIP, P Plus, CEO. Suge White, DJ Mondee,8Bzag, Kastone and Rec Circle, Alex McWatt, June Kang, Mike Bortone, Big Lou the boxing GM, and my wonder dog...Jack who I rescued on the Lower East side from a vagrant with a shopping cart full of puppies. Awww...and last but most definitely not least, my wife, Andi, who is the most incredible person to ever enter my life. Fugativ (that west coast dude)
