Martin Plant was born in a small village in Leicestershire, UK. At the age of 7 Martin started playing the trumpet. He mastered the instrument so well that he started touring with big bands and jazz orchestras. He was also invited to play with the BBC concert orchestra.
At the age of 14 he taught himself to play the guitar and started to write his own guitar pieces. He left school at 16 to work in a local recording studio. At 19 he went to London to work at
Trevor Horn Studios - Sarm as a tape operator and assisted on many various projects including Sade, Simple Minds, The Pogues, Bros, Tears For Fears, Steve Lipson and Julian Mendelson amongst others.
A few years later he realised that engineering was not the career he wanted to pursue, so he travelled around the world twice looking for what that career might be by living and working in a dozen countries.
At 25 he started studying Tibetan Buddhism living in a monastic community and doing charity work helping Tibetan Monks in Nepal, Bhutan and India.
After 10 years he returned to Leicestershire where he met and married Grace, who, when heard him whisper a song was
amazed at his natural ability and talents.
Back in middle England he bought a home studio setup (cubase etc) and found instruments at the local car boot sale and junk shops (drums, guitars, basses and keyboards). The resulting tracks all came about as you hear them now.
These life experiences are reflected in the lyrics/music he writes, plays and produces.
I love the interaction with the music lovers
