Straight Ahead Blues

We play blues. Hard-edged Florida blues. Biting guitar and vocals inspired by Howlin' Wolf and Johnny Copeland.

Band/artist history

This band was formed in the early 90's by Mark Haney and Tom Smith.

Have you performed in front of an audience?

We played live steadily throught the mid 90's. We still play out from time to time but are more selective. Some of the high points were playing stadium shows where we opened for Gov't Mule, The Allman Brothers, Ted Nugent, The Outlaws, Fabulous Thunderbirds, etc. But probably my favorite place to play was Casey's Alley. It was the first place we played. A small place in Ft. Myers Beach, Florida located behind a shopping center. It definitely had ambiance. Drunk shrimpers, yuppies, and hard core blues lovers all intermingled and had a great time. Good people and good times. I understand that the owner passed away a little while back. I will always be greatful to him for some of the best memories I have playing music. It was a great blues room.
