Instrumental Rock

Welcome! Thanks for calling in! Here you'll find my music - instrumental rock guitar mainly, influenced by the likes of Joe Satriani, Rush, Genesis, Steve Vai, Thin Lizzy. It's fairly progressive music, subtle at times, rockin' out at times but not "widdly". I like to see it as subtly different, see what you think!?
Band/artist history
I was born in Manchester, England & have played guitar since aged 10, raised on the glam rock era in the early 1970s e.g. T.Rex, Slade, Sweet then onto my real heroes later in the 70s / early in the 80s e.g. Rush, Genesis, Pink Floyd, Thin Lizzy, UFO. The guitarists who really got me cranked were Alex Lifeson, Brian Robertson, Michael Schenker. The New Wave of British Heavy Metal gripped me also, seeing Iron Maiden in their very early years. At a later date I then discovered the modern guitarists such as Joe Satriani & Steve Vai - although I definitely don't see myself in that mould, their styles, approach, touch & compositions have inspired me to take another look at my output. Throughout these periods I've almost always been in at least one live band, from progressive rock/metal with Elgin in the late 70s, to the hairspray heaven period in the early to mid-80s with Professor Fate, to perhaps a more credible blues rock in the 90s with Kick The Kat. This millennium Kick The Kat has reformed but now treads a more hard rock path - I'm one of two guitarists in the band now & we love our Thin Lizzy harmonised lead guitar. I still like my blues rock & release music occassionally as Mad 4 Blues.
