Ive been into the rave and Club Scene sence age 14. So Ive always loved dance music. I grew up with parents that would rather put music on than the TV. And their taste in music was anything from Rock, Blues, Soul and Pop. I loved music and I loved my parent's music too but also growing up my friends were all into Dance, Warehouse Raves and Clubs. Hardcore and Acid House. Jungle and Drum & Bass, Garage and House. So I gravitated towards the dance scean too and loved it. I also listened to all sorts of other music from Electro Hip Hop and Pinkfloyd to The Orb and The Doors. I love experimenting and playing with different samples from all the types and genres of music that Ive been into through the years and put them together into DnB or House. I wouldnt say Im a professional producer by a long shot but Im pretty good and have some creative ideas. I use Reason 13 and Abelton Live Lite. I use a lot of Native Instrument plugins among others too. My samples comes from all sorts of other music and I use Splice but I use a lot of effects over the samples to make them kind of my own. I like messing around with different synths and creating my own presets. N.I Massive, Massive X and FM8 are my favourite and I know my way around them pretty well. Ive just started to get into Serum 2. It is a great synth. I create all my own drum loops from scratch. My Weaknesses when it comes to production is in the final stage in the mixdown and the mastering process. I think you will agree that I may have some creative ideas but alot of my tracks sound muddy and not very clear. My EQ and levels are a bit all over the place. I would love some help with this. I probably need help in the way I arrange my tracks too ? All my tracks are free to download but you can also buy them for 50 pence each to help me save and buy more music equipment. I would love to make a career out of it one day but I know I've got a long ways to go yet. Thanks For reading
Have you performed in front of an audience?
I played once on Generation Radio. It was an internet radio station playing out of Brixton in London UK. Me and about 8 or 9 others were on a Radio DJ Producer course. As a promotional thing the main producers got a licence to play live on FM Radio for a while. Part of our training was to put together a set and play out live on the radio over all of London. I did my set on The History of Jungle and Drum & Bass. I gave an informative talk on where the scene started from and played the tracks in order of the earliest to the latest.
Your musical influences
I have many influences from my Dad, Glen Stoner's taste in music who was a brilliant lead guitarist. He played along side some of the greats like Jimmy Page from Led Zeppelin and Ritchie Blackmore from Deep Purple. My Dad went to school with Ritchie Blackmore and taught him the first principles of playing guitar. I grew up listening to alot of my Father and Mother's music and they had a rather extensive vinyl collection. Growing up I moved on into the rave and club scene.
What equipment do you use?
I have a home built PC running windows 10. I'm using Reason Studios 13 as my main DAW. I have Reason ReCycle and ReBirth RB-338. Sometimes I may use Luna or Ableton Live 11 Lite. I mostly use Native Instrument Plugins. I have Massive and Massive X and I use FM8 and Serum 2. My Audio Interface is the Focusrite Scarlett Solo 4th Gen, bundled with the Focusrite Scarlet headphones and mic. I have the Akai MPK Mini MK3 midi keyboard and lastly my Studio Monitors are the Adam Audio T Series Model T5V
