On New Year's Eve Day, I found out that an old bandmate and friend died, though the information on his Facebook page was very sketchy on the details. I also found out from a neighbour that my landlord's mother died on Christmas Day.

I initially intended to finish a recording I started a few days ago, but ended up going off track and coming up with a minimalist piano dirge, most, on the spur of the moment. It is sometimes a good thing though to go off track.

This piano instrumental is a companion piece to "3:22am, December 8, 2012" and "3:25am, November 30, 2012" in that it too starts in F#, although unlike the other two, it more strictly adheres to the F# whole tone scale.

This is a companion piece to "3:25am, November 30, 2012". Both have the same recurring theme at the beginning, but go off on different directions. This one ideally is for organ, the other one for piano with occasional echo treated notes.
