samothracian waltz in a minor samothracian waltz in a minor
"Samothrace? Where is Samothrace?" "There is no such place as Samothrace?" "So then, why write a song about it?" "Because Samothrace does exist. Only in my mind between the Third Eye, the Fourth Plane and the Second Wind."
the sultan's piano lesson the sultan's piano lesson
my piano playing is flawed in spots, but I had to record this Middle Eastern - Ennio Morricone hybrid piano theme immediately after writing it so that I wouldn't forget....

starts off as garage rockabilly (or sludgabilly as some might say), then becomes much more doom-laden and sinister....
my diminishing powers (O God, where art thou?) my diminishing powers (O God, where art thou?)
my piano playing has a ways to go (even with the help of liberal use of post production editing) and don't ask me to play this piece live. And hopefully I did not plagiarize a certain notable Romantic German composer. But close to what I envisioned

this is a soundscape, both comedic and disturbing, based on a recording I did of 15 minutes of heavy rainfall in East Toronto, June 25, 2014, 10:30-34 PM.

a quirky bossa nova influenced instrumental, so named because it's in a C mode that's constructed as follows: semi-tone, tone, semi-tone, tone, semi-tone, tone, semi-tone, tone; or C - C# - D# - E - F# - G - A - A# - C.
melancholic in g minor melancholic in g minor
This is a classical influenced piano instrumental in the key of G minor. Even though my piano playing is so-so, this may be my most complex piece so far (I would say it's at the grade 4 or 5 RCM level). Hopefully I'll be able to write more like this,
we're so fed up we're so f*** ed up
all signs point to the imminent breakdown of human society (mind you, that wasn't an uncommon feeling at other times in history and yet we're still here and besides, one can still appreciate the beauty of a spring day).
