Manny B. is a 21 year old Cambodian-American emcee from the Bronx, NY. Still currently residing in the birthplace of Hip-Hop, Manny brings that swagger, lyrical content, punchlines (metaphors , wordplay. etc), cocky flow and look that only a New Yorker can deliver. Brought up in a poverty-stricken, crime-ridden section of South Bronx; Manny and his famiy moved to the suburbs of the North Bronx in 1996. During his early teens, he found himself back on the streets that his parents tried to escape during the late 80s/early 90s, Taylor Avenue. In those years, he would experience, learn and see many things that molded him into the humble yet aggressive person that he is today. Manny began his career in 2001 when he was 15, and his early rap topics consisted of the typical killing, drug dealing, raunchy, and explicit content that he heard in Rap songs and adopted from the streets. Now a 6 year veteran, at the age of 20, Manny B has really evolved as an emcee. His words are more poetic, grown, and truthful than it was in his early days. Manny B. does not record in a studio, he records for pleasure and because he feels like he has a talent that NEEDS to be heard without going into the corrupted music business. Still in his prime, Manny B. claims he is one of the survivors, since Hip Hop is dead and that he is years and years and years more mature, wise, and advanced than most rappers his age. Manny B. considers himself a Lyricist, a true Emcee and refuses to dumb down for anybody. He is not a "rapper" and has no needs for gimmicks, hooks or a chorus...just a beat and a mic and his words speak for themselves..Have you performed in front of an audience?Live from the 718.
