save me destiny I http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mahmood_Khan am a singer songwiter and have launched my new single called save me destiny, a song that will fund a campaign of feeding the hungry globally. Humanity has collectively fed the hungry and the names of traditions are diferent but cause has remained consistent. In my region its called 'Langar' meaning the kitchen which serves free food to all people irrespective of their caste, creed, colour or status. 'Langar' http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Langar_(Sikhism) http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Langar_(Sufism) is an ancient tradition and the main philosophy is focused on acquiring peace by feeding the hungry. i am a copyright activist and currently in conversant with WIPO www.wipo.int/ ( world intellectual property organization) and am inspiring the new generation in my region to go digital savy making the notion that cyber space makes it all easier, quicker and prejudice free a household fact. This would be the first music single by a Muslim Artist promoting global values and spreading peace and tolerence in such a way. This song release will serve as a model for new music artists, singers and songwriters globally and especially in my region injecting them with the belief that innovation pays off in the cyber world. That the Artist of the future is a 'cyber Artist' completely in control of his work and his placement of revenues to causes that inspire his work. You can also read about my project called Projectdownunder ( a benefit song for The Red Cross performed by 30 Australian artists) http://www.projectdownunder.com . The video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sajO_iCa4jQ clip of this song uses Rice demonstrating abundance and prosperity. Hope u enjoy it.
Band/artist history
Mahmood Khan Mahmood Khan represents an exclusive rare breed of singer/songwriters to emerge out of Asia who amongst extreme difficulties kept their Art alive and dedicated a lifetime to celebrate the risilience and adaptibility of the human spirit. An experienced sound engineer, producer, writer, lyricist and perfomer he has pioneered the fusion sound and has continually brought hope to his niche listeners around the world with his spiritual pop oriented songwriting and philosophy. Born in Pakistan to parents who migrated from India after the 1947 war he wrote songs at an early age and started off as an assitant sound engineer in Los Angeles in a company that was a hub for R&B, Rap, hip hop and Funk genres. Jam power productions led by visionary Tom Berry was based in Northridge, California and was home to producers chuckki Booker, Livio Harris, Damon Thomas, Dave Stewart and Ronni Van among many others. During these years he also worked with Artist Mortesa Barjesteh. In 1996 he produced his first solo album in English which was released on his self owned label in the US. The work was noticed by the legendary World music Artist Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan. His second solo album "Only One" was released in 1997 and it featured performances by Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan. Songs from the album were pirated by a major Bollywood film (kartoos) that stripped him of all royalties and credits from the album. This inhumane treatment was strong enough to turn him into a copyright activist and to fight back he became a self placed spokesman for copyright and ' the face of legitimacy in music' in the region and a promoter of digital music format. His next project was album "panah" which was released by Magna Sound India and same year he recorded another album "alive" for Dubai based record label Vanilla Music. He also wrote, performed, produced and directed the music video for "tere baghair" a song dedicated to the people who lost their lives in the 1947 Indian war. The video went on to become the most aired song in the history of Pakistan. In 2004 he was hired by the Government of Pakistan to compose music for the 9th SAF games opening and closing ceremonies. During these years Mahmood also developed and invented the "mahmoodKhanLIVE" project based around a new genre with a unique sound comprising only of Eastern instruments and gypsy guitars arranged in a Black song format. He named the genre "modern folk". Currently he is working on the mahmoodkhan songs digital reissue program of his body of work to capture devoted listeners globally. Also the new single 'we could be paradise', a charity song written and produced by Mahmood and performed by 30 Australian Artists is now availaible on ITUNES.
