My Grandfather was a pianist. I used to sing with him all the time. I studied opera for ten years and classical piano. U2, Berlin, Radiohead, Delight, The BeeGees, Portishead and Donna Summer all influence my style.Anything else?
Madelin recorded a single with CIRC called DESTROY SHE SAID that is on Ministry of Sound's retro compilation: THIS IS TECH POP which came out April 2002. This tune has a street-wise Susie Hugg/Kate Bush vibe with some Nick Lowe production quality thrown in for kicks. I know Zero doesn’t list these artists as influences but here she’s quite evocative of their style. It’s catchy, fun, and at the same time full of brisk action. Her juxtaposition of worldly knowledge with innocence makes for a great combination. Dunno when this single was cut or where it can be had on a commercial CD but it should be our there for others to hear. This is one hot song.
