New School

Lyrikal Buddah is THE audio beast hailing from Columbia, South Carolina. While recently signing with Detonator Records out of Boston, Mass. His diverse sound has led to him opening for underground legends such as Ed O.G.,The Perceptions(Akrobatik and Mr.Lif),Breez Evaflowin'and Slum Village. His ecclectic stlye and powerful stage performance has led to him opening for major acts such as Outkast, Ludacris, Nappy Roots,Bubba Sparkxx and Field Mob. A giant in real life(Lyrikal is almost 7 feet tall weighing over 300 pounds), he's also a giant with the pen, touching topics from battle raps to socio-political poerty. Also a machine off the dome, Lyrikal's freestyle ability is tested by only a few. Lyrikal's first official release will be "Fully Loaded", the highly anticipated second compilation from Detonator Records early 2004. Be on the lookout for his first blazin' 12" with the club banger "light Shit" b/w the reality driven "All That I Had" early 2004. Lyrikal Buddah is not only a up and coming artist, but long overdue.
Have you performed in front of an audience?
Hell yeah! I play live. 35 shows in 2002. I've played different crowds from 800 at the 4th Annual Hip-hop Fest in Boston to 35,000 at the Three Rivers Festival in Columbia, S.C. I also love those intimate crowds of 50 to 150. Sometimes those crowds are the best. I'm the king of stage presence, just ask around.
Your musical influences
Man I listen to all kinds of music, from Slipknot and System of a Down to RjD2 and Little Brother. so you're gonna feel all those influences. I may be rocking with a band or my dj. I may come out to a Royce the 5'9" instrumental or a Kool n' the Gang instrumental. You never know what to expect at a lyrikal Buddah performance.
