Me, (J-Jilla) was born and (half) raised in Chicago, IL. I lived in a 3 bedroom apartment in Robert Taylor Projects buildin 4947 located on Federal. I lived wit my paps, O.G. and 2 brothers. Both of my brothers dropped out of school and started sellin 2 get through day by day even though my paps n' O.G. had jobs. I'm da youngest so I figured dey since they waz puttin mo' food on da table it waz o.k. But my O.G. n' paps kept sayin dey didn't want me 2 turn out like dem, gettin locked up every year or two. Dey wanted me 2 finish school n' do somethin. It waz hard in da hood though cuz Robert Taylor waz no joke growin up in. Right across da street waz da white buildings (GD's) while I lived in da red buildings (Vulture City/BD's). Everytime da two gangs went to war our buildin waz in da crossfire.
Alot of people my family knew got killed where we lived at. Sometimes my O.G. "moms" was scared 4 me 2 go outside n' kick it wit my guys. We waz coo though. It's a ped mall goin all down 47th St. until u get 2 King Dr. Datz where we used 2 get our gear and 1's from. On 51st St. u had candy stores, a dollar store and more 2 go 2.
School waz crazy. I went 2 John Farren Fine Arts Elementary School which is now closed. Every week I got into it wit hataz from da white buildings cuz I use 2 talk 2 shorties from they end. It didn't faze me though, I always got good grades but my conduct got worse every year I waz in dat school. Afta a while both of my brothers got kicked out da house 4 constantly doin da same thing over n' over again n' droppin out of school. My next 2 oldest brother "Corleone" went 2 live wit my grannie. My other brother moved out wit his gurl.
In 99' just be4 Spring Break in da CHI my brother had called my moms n' asked us 2 come visit 4 Spring Break in Iowa. I didn't even kno dey moved 2 Iowa, I didn't even kno where Iowa waz. So me n' my mom go visit and I'm like, "It's lame up here". Oh well, it wasn't my decision but we wound up movin 2 Iowa ne-way. A nigga b homesick everyday. But we always go back 2 da city everytime we get a chance 2. But ne-wayz I started playin b-ball. Dat waz my thing 4 a lil' bit until 5th grade when I met some niggaz who waz just startin 2 rap. I had neva rapped be4. So I started writin in school everyday until' I got ill. Da thing iz, in Iowa u ain't gone get noticed cuz it's lame. But I've been rappin 4 about 4yrs now and I'm gettin better n' better.
I got up wit some of my guys and we had a group called da "Mastaminds". We wasn't weak it waz just all of us had different styles of rappin n' when we all on 1 song it didn't sound right. But we performed a couple times and shorties and niggaz waz sayin I waz ill. We met up wit a teacher at our school dat had a studio in his tip. When we went ova there he showed us dis program called fruityloops dat u can use 2 make beatz. I took da disk home and every since I've been makin beatz 4 about 2yrs. I'm ill at beats now. I'm only 15 bout 2 b 16 in January n' some of my beats are colder den some professional producer's beats. So wat I'm tryna do on here iz get noticed. I'm on myspace 2 if u wanna get at me but just c wat u think...oneHave you performed in front of an audience?Wheneva I get a chance I will perform
