It all started one rainy night in 2003. Adam Christy and his friend from Texas, Greg Day, went over to Dave Botluk's house for a little jam session. They played five songs: Two Bob Dylan covers, Knockin' On Heaven's Door and All Along The Watchtower. The Pink Floyd great, Wish You Were Here. Plus two originals: Ohio, which was recently recorded by Mr. Pink and written by Adam Christy, and Scratching The Surface, A lyric from BoBo C. Tiberius of The Unsinkable Molly Brown that Dave had just penned the music for. It had never been recorded before.
This night proved historical in the world of The Unsinkable Molly Brown (known then as Westfield). Though Greg returned to Texas and greater glory as the frontman of "From The Golden Age Of Radio", this night would mark the beginning of a side project run by Dave and Adam that would last seemingly forever. The band became a testing ground for new material. Many UMB songs started, and still do start, as L3D songs and jams. Dave and Adam would grow greatly as songwriters and musicians through their work together here in L3D.
Nope. Los Tres Diablos is mainly just a band that is put together when Dave and Adam feel like jamming and no one else is around.
