Hi Folks! I've got two studio albums to date:
'Fathom' (2013): recorded this album a few years after receiving a music composition degree (with violin performance) from Wilfrid Laurier. The project was funded by the Ontario Arts Council. This music is more polished and streamlined than the music from my first album (pre-degree), but it still hold that genre-blending/genre-bending core. You will find elements of world, pop, rock, blues, new age, punk in this album.

'After the Fall' (official release 2021, recorded in 2000). While gigging with my band in Toronto Canada, I was approached by engineer Denis Tougas to record an album. I poured all my money and energy into this project, working with my talented band members, monster session musicians, and top-notch engineers. Denis and I walked out of the studio after finalising the album (mastering), to a lunar eclipse in full swing. It was magical! Then the universe pulled the rug from under me: while working hard to save money for the next process (a tour), I got hit by a taxi while riding my bike. The album was shelved, and I spent years recovering, healing my body.
After 9 years of only teaching music, I've decided to start performing/creating my own music again. I decided to record my first YouTube video, and wanted to use a song from this era. I forgot all the words, so looked to the masters to jar my memory. The song hit me like a thunder bolt and I realised 'whoa, this recording needs to be heard'! So here we are.

Band/artist history
21 years ago I recorded an album in Toronto Canada; a really cool album with a stellar lineup of musicians and engineers.
It is being officially released 21 years later on October 6, 2021!
Why 2 decades later? Because the universe had other plans. While saving money for the next part of the process (a tour), I got hit by a taxi while riding my bike. Healing took years, and my path veered elsewhere. The album was shelved and forgotten, until now!
Not only has this music stood the test of time, but many of the songs resonate specifically with the struggles in this day and age. Hmmm...
I am super excited to share this music with you all, and to showcase the amazing musicians and engineers who participated in the project!
Have you performed in front of an audience?
Decked out in multi-layered, multi-coloured clothing, I would line my stuffed animals up in a row (and my younger sister), and perform my grand compositions on my little piano. I was 5 years old. My love for performing and collaborating has taken me to interesting places; a year in Jamaica, a few years in Mexico, a year in Korea, three years in India, years in Toronto and Victoria and Vancouver. With the thousands of hours playing music with musicians from around the world, my music has an eclectic mix of rock, world, blues, funk, pop, and new age.
Your musical influences
Jimi Hendrix, Led Zeppelin, South Indian Karnatak music, XTC, Frank Zappa, Tom Waits, Iron and Wine, etc.
What equipment do you use?
Violin made in 1934 by R. Ronbeck. LR Baggs pickup for violin.
Seagul acoustic guitar.
Fishman LoudBox 100 amplifier.

You seems a complete artist with numerous talents and skills....
Have my admiration until my next visit...
I tried getting through on your e-mail here but it didn't mmm; technical stuff perhaps. However, just to say that a I've turned people over to your site to listen to your amazing artistry. A radio station or more will come around, sometime soon, I'm sure. All takes time. Hang in there, wherever you are. Would like to jam with you during a future Holiday break with some funky shufflin' backing rhythm to let lose your slidin' violin.I do have an 'oriental/funk sounding hip hop tune I've got ready to have someone add to & help arrange. Drop a line when you have a moment. Back to listen to 'Carrot' & more. Bye Lorrina. -Vesa.
