Band/artist history
Didn't think you'd ever find a young artist that could run with the best of them? Well, Top Notch Records will prove you wrong. Multi-talented Latoya aka Miss Lee the Top Notch Diva brings a mixture to the game that is bound to make her the next and even better Missy Elliot and Lauryn Hill. At the age of 17, Latoya had developed extensive skills as a lady producer, songstress, lyricist, and emcee. What person her age do you know, can claim fame to this? Didn't think you could answer that question. This young lady is a very well rounded individual. Latoya's first love is music, but she also knows that a sure way to keep you afloat in this world is to apply yourself in academics. Latoya has maintained a 4.0 GPA throughout high school and does not plan on stopping until she receives her advanced education in Law, commanding the world of Entertainment Law. She is off to a great start, who can better represent an artist, producer, or writer, than one who has been in their shoes. Latoya is doing nothing but setting herself up for longevity in the entertainment world. This senior at Martin Luther King Jr. High School in Lithonia, GA formerly played the saxophone in the advanced band. With instrumental performance from the age of 10, you can guarantee that Latoya knows music. Producing is not just about pressing the right buttons or putting the right sequences together and neither is this music game just about how trendy and cool you can be, somebody has to bring genuine musical talent and your girl Latoya does just that. Latoya has been working with the Top Notch Records Crew since the tender age of 10 and proceeds to command sessions, pitching much needed suggestions to even the most seasoned artists that come to record at the Top Notch Recording Studio. As a result of receiving hands on experience at the Top Notch Recording Studio. Latoya has developed production skills, has expanded writing skills, and even add a touch to your engineering mix. Latoya writes Hip-Hop and R&B music and looks forward to working and completing a song in her favorite genre of music, Dancehall. So how does this concentrated nucleus of talent maintain? She stays in touch with the trends of the music industry. Latoya watched those she admires to include: Lauryn Hill, Missy Elliot, Alicia Keys, Anita Baker, India Arie, and Lil' Kim. All of these women are multi-talented and has proven that being in the industry is not just about being a pretty face. Even at the age of 17, Latoya understands that a woman needs tough skin to survive in this business. There is no doubt that this Brooklyn born lady won't use her street knowledge to the advantage of having a successful career. Latoya also loves a good challenge, you can tell with the activities that she once balanced: basketball, band, producing, writing, singing, and most of all freestyling. Latoya frequently steps up to the plate to conquer emcees that take her beauty for lack of skill. Latoya looks up to R. Kelly as the metaphor kings and she continuously spits lyrics that take you back to the B.C. times of parables. They say that after 4 or 5 years in Georgia, a young woman becomes a Georgia Peach. Miss Lee? No! She moved from Rochester, NY in 1994 but has lain claim to a variety of ethnicities that cannot be tamed by the Atlanta countryside. Jamaican, Chinese, and African American Heritages can do nothing but enhance the experience that Latoya pours into her lyrics. You won't hear her delivering the typical 17 year old bubble gum songs. She has been putting the lyric pen to paper since the age of 11 and has always stayed ahead of her time. You can witness her lyrical, singing, and her maturity in her first single, "Thug In You". Don't sleep on this quadruple threat. With producing, singing, writing, and rapping under her belt, Latoya aka Miss Lee will fulfill her goal and prove that she is more than just a pretty face.
