Although LIFO's music could be considered alternative, noisy rock, it's members draw from influences as diverse as Hum, Skinny Puppy, Glassjaw, Tool, Tori Amos, Cave-In, Harry Nilsson, Deftones, Fugazi, The Police, Pink Floyd, Craig David, Mars Volta, and Rush. Each member incorporates their influences into every song to create a unique and recognizable style of music. This all comes to a devastating head live, where emotion runs rampant and gives way to total cacaphony and euphporic insanity. Cocky huh? this is how I wanted Dinosaur jr. to sound...just a little harder in places ... I always toyed with the idea of starting off a song relly loud, then mellowing it out, an excersise in inverse dynamics? or something....
