This song features two drum tracks, one rigidly mechanical and the other undeniably human. There is a tension between them that is reflected in the words of the song. Am I who I think I am, or have I forgotten my true nature?

Jazz-influenced and thematically inspired by the work of NIN and The Cure, this song explores darker emotions and how they are passed from generation-to-generation in Western society.

Acid Jazz

Anomalous is the latest project from experimental artist, Landry Butler. It was created in response to a post that went around Facebook in early 2009 imploring artists to “get excited and make things.” The 6-song/spoken word EP features frequent collaborators; the experimental jazz duo, 3 Pups Music and Adrian Rose (puppeteer and member of The Mattoid). It is influenced as much by the DIY ethic of Jandek as by the chance operations of John Cage and the nonlinear dreamscapes of David Lynch.
