Lakeyshia A smith born in Phoenix Arizona, grew in west phoenix for a majority of her life. Smith had a love for music at the age of 4, dancing, singing and putting on shows for family members. At the age of 18 Smith went to south mountain community college to study performing arts. After five years of studying the art of dance, Smith had a desire to pursue a singing career. At the age of 25 Smith sought to record her own material. In the summer of 2011 Smith teamed up with Young Blake of The Rising Kings to record her own material. what started out just being a demo tape turned into a complete album in which the “Lkey Smith” album was born. During the recording Smith were battling past demons of hurt, heart ache, and pain which have inspired most of the writing the album. Smith spoke on what was in her heart and had a burning desire to share her message with the world. "I've always wanted to help people whether it be through dance, songs, music...whatever I just want a way to touch and inspire people. I believe that is what God's purpose for me to do." Smith has been performing at Open Mic venues, booked a few shows through Afton Live as well as singing back up for the local artist Connie Muhammad. Smith has been a part of the Martin Luther King Youth Rally and continue to perform in venues in the valley. Smith sells her music at the open mic venues and is currently working on a mix tape for her supporters titled “Unfinished Biz Niz” which will be dropping in the spring of 2013

This album is like my diary. Every song on the album comes from a personal experience and is expressed through Lakeyshia A Smith's words. This album is something everyone can relate to, Men and Women. I have some songs that speak on relationships, having fun with ya girls, and about trials and tribulations. I even got a lil somethin to empower women. I am thankful that I have been able to get my music out there thanks to the wonderful talented producers that contributed to this project. Shout out to Young Blake, and Wessbethebest (Lee Smith). So to everyone who purchase this album, I promise you won't be disappointed. Drops winter 2012!!!!!!
