Me And My Sitar Me And My Sitar

A combination of sitar and tranditional Indian vocals, this song soothes the ears of the casual listener and the melodies will excite the ears of the more advanced listener. This is an original composition.

Swagatham Krishna Swagatham Krishna

A cover of Oothukadu Venkatasubbaiar's original, this song features tanpura (drones), tabla (drums) and santoor (literally 100 strings) accompanying the vocals.

So Beautiful (Oh Yeah, Oh No) So Beautiful (Oh Yeah, Oh No)

This is a song about how everybody is beautiful in some way but how one's life is pointless as he/she commits some mistakes. The first verse has a reference or allusion to a mythical character...can you figure out who it is?

Hip Hop General

Science Alone Science Alone

Piano-led song along with violins. With an upbeat drums track, this song is about the importance of having with science as the base of life, as opposed to God.

Smooth R&B

I Dunno Y I Dunno Y

Some crazy vocals over a hot-ass piano-led beat. The guitar that is introduced in the second verse completes a happy bouncy tune. The vocals complement the tune with sad, depressive lyrics about not knowing what to do.

Funk

[KorektPhool] is my rapping/singing name. I am essentially a vocalist, but all the instruments you hear on this page are played by me (via MIDI). Most of the music is written and produced by me except of course for the occasional cover. My interests in music are diverse and my own music reflects this multi-faceted interest. On this website you will find music from many genres, including RNB, hip-hop, rock, pop, Indian pop, and Indian classical. Enjoy! and feel free to comment.
Band/artist history
My musical life began when I was but five, learning Indian classical music. I have used this initial training as a foundation for all my music endeavours. I originated my 'alter-ego' [KorektPhool] in 2002, when living in Hong Kong. Here did I compose my first (and fortunately unrecorded!) songs. In Australia in 2003, I recorded my first songs and came up with an album called '13% DEMOn' in 2004. In that same year appeared the second album 'This Ain't Me'. In 2005 appeared my most mature and respected album to date, 'The Rise'. Since then (I'm writing in 2006 now) I have not written much music due to other commitments and diversions, but hope to record more music soon and broaden my horizons. Look out for any upcoming releases!
Have you performed in front of an audience?
I play live only Indian music, and never any of my own songs.
