KBP consists of 1 poor mother****er who scrapes together whatever can be obtained for cheap, yet is always upgrading gear whenever extra $$ becomes available (usually right after a bank heist). Recording environments have been less than adequate due to the fact that rent must be paid. While on the road scrapin' a living, i've recorded in travel trailers, metal storage/office containers (pods), RV's, a little shack hidden in the middle of a maze at a Renaissance Festival, a one room house in SW Colorado, basements, bedrooms, and of course, home. But if you listen to the finished products you will see that Knuckleball Ned's skills on the guitar, bass, and keys make up for being born into the working class.
