The AkAdEmY is a group of about seven people all together. The AkaDeMy pushes the boundaries of hip hop mixing in elements of rock, funk, soul, and experimental into one package to form a unique sound. Each track is inspired by a certain genre. The two emcees: Journey1 (J1), and KnoetiK both have totally different styles that blend together perfectly to give the listener a taste of each flow. Your musical influences
All the classic and underground hip hop. Fuck the new shit! That classic shit where they talked about the struggle and real life shit people can relate to-not how big their rims are. classic rock, funk, soul, hard rock, and anything and everything thats got a rhythm!
What equipment do you use?
Logic Pro to compose the music. Various guitars and basses are available at our studio we go to. A Roland TD12s electronic drumset to add a live feel to the music. Obviously Pro Tools and just about anything you could possibly need at Griffin Studios off Moreland Ave. And last but not least our hands with a pen and a pad!
