Baltimore born, Kay Johnson, grew up with her brother and mother in the heart of Baltimore. Kay is a college graduate and along with her rap career, works as a Community Health Worker with Johns Hopkins University; specializing in diabetes studies. The sister of a die hard rap fan, Kay was influenced early by several hip hop artists, namely MC Lyte. Since the age of 13, Kay has admired Lyte's style and lyrical ability. At every opportunity, Kay performs locally, staying focused on her musical goals. Her first CD, "Look At Me Now" was released in January 2004 and her new CD is called "Who is K Johnson". Kay's dream is to soon be signed and begin her journey to find longevity and success in the rap world.
