An Old Favourite by L Lynn

Country General

I have been singing off and on for a number of years now. Recently I got together with Phil Hyde(Bass Player)and together we gathered some fellow minded musicians and ran with the idea of making a cd. With some great original numbers (8) and some good old favourite country songs we made an album called Higher Ground. Our web page can be found at countrydownunder.co.nz - here you can obtain information about the original song writers and the band members.
Band/artist history
Separately the band members have all covered a lot of ground and gigs doing what they love. Collectively we are still pretty raw on that front however, we have been well received where we have been.
Have you performed in front of an audience?
We did play live, a little in the garage, a little to the neighbours and a bit in a country tavern. Playing live is easier than singing in a studio
Your musical influences
I personally love the sounds of old time country music and bluegrass however, the boys would vary in their range from Ricky Skaggs through to Stevie Ray Vaughan. Peter is definately a blues man.
What equipment do you use?
I don't use anything but a mic and my voice however I am attemping to learn the guitar. Peter plays some old guitar that has no name, Phil plays a music man bass and Rick plays with a Tama drum kit (rather large)
