KarmaSupra

A crazy mix of ska/post-hardcore/emo/metal/rap/world music and last but not least punk with a hefty amount of left wing politics.

KarmaSupra was formed in June 2002. The band was origionally a guitar based jamming group consisting of Josh Gregory and Louis Romégoux (ex-New Transition). The jamming sessions started in early May 2002 and were a great success. However, both bandmembers felt the need to form a proper band with Drums, Bass and Voice.
Band/artist history
Talent Contest at School was the main factor in the formation of the group. The band signed up to the contest (the contest had previously won in 1999 by Romégoux's ex band the 'New Transition'). Stupidly the band had signed up to enter this competition without having ever played with a drummer, so a rapid search for a drummer began. The day of the contest arrived. Henry Chester (friend of the band and Up In Smoke member) was invited to play for the band. The band (under the name of 'New Transition' because 'KarmaSupra' was branded too risqué by event organisers) had no rehearsal time before the gig and therefore Henry had to improvise his drumming. The outcome, however, was very successful despite the fact that the band did not win the contest. From then on 'KarmaSupra' was formed. September 2002 brought the arrival of a new member to the band Lucas 'Luke' Wild. Luke had previously played once for the 'New Transition' and was also a good friend of the band. He added the vitally important bass guitar to the band's sound and helped take 'KarmaSupra' to another level. From September onwards the band have held regular practices on Tuesdays and Thursdays and have had plenty of gigs. They have headlined both The Grapes and The Boardwalk. They have recorded both an acoustic E.P and an electric one! However, In October 2003 Louis Romégoux (KarmaSupra frontman) decided to leave the band because he wasnt feeling right in the band. Since then, Louis is a member of The Feds (www.thefedsband.tk) and The New Roots (www.thenewroots.tk). Henry has re-joined The New Roots (with Louis) in which he plays the drums. Henry is also in another band with his older brother. Lucas is in another band/s? and Josh is a member of funk band. In March 2004 however, KarmaSupra reformed and are back together now with the original line-up. We're gonna be gigging in Summer 04! Look out for us!
