This song sounds too familiar. Its hard to come with something unique. Try to be yourself. Interesting you like a child of the 80's getting in touch with their 70's side. It feels a little weak. Re-EQ it should have it where you like. Maybe I'm being too much of a nit pick but the players or the performance should be more dynamic. It feels like the band is playing their last gig for the night & its like they are drained of energy. If you can't redo then up the tempo just a little bit apply effects on additional tracks then remix. ccccI'm not sure what you are using for a sequencer if its Cubase the b&b plug ins should do. I'd say the same with Logic, ProTools or Sonar. If you have the midi experiment with using virtual instruments make sure its transposed. I'd remix both tracks together then add the vocals presuming the parts are recorded separately. ccccDo you have the mixes as midi files and/or separate audio files?
