Hi. I'm Justin. My main musical instrument is the guitar (though I also play various others -- clarinet, tin whistle, mandolin...) and my main outlet is as one half of folk-comedy duo . However, I also enjoy playing traditional music, so I thought I would share a little of that here. I hope you enjoy what you hear.
I do enjoy playing live, mostly as part of , but as I've been living in a new area lately it's been all solo gigs.
I grew up listening to a lot of British folk music from the 60s (Bert Jansch, Pentangle, John Renbourn...), classical (Bach, Mozart, Beethoven, Vivaldi), a little jazz (Modern Jazz Quartet), and other bits and pieces. Later on, I discovered Bob Dylan, Tom Waits, Portishead, Richard Thompson, Silly Sisters, Pearl Jam, They Might Be Giants, Amelia Curran... Recently I've been investigating Balkan brass bands, tibetan singing bowls, and electronica, so you might say that my musical interests and influences are somewhat varied.
I play a Simon & Patrick S&P6 acoustic guitar, a Yamaha clarinet, a Burnett voice...
