I Will I Will
Point of view of guilty acquitted, with ironic allusion to Dylan's "I Shall Be Released" with its innocent convicted point of view.

The Windmills of Gunning The Windmills of Gunning
My first for 2009 50songs90days challenge/5090 FAWM

Heartbreakers Waltz Heartbreakers Waltz
This is an acoustic style waltz... (I find them difficult to do, my mind wanders and I lose my timing... oh well... I guess it comes with the territory of heartbreakers waltzes)

Like a Picture Drawn Upon the Mist Like a Picture Drawn Upon the Mist
A song with some lovely imagery and, I hope, some evocative music.

It Barely Hurts Now At All It Barely Hurts Now At All
A melancholy, slightly edgy, quietly alternative acoustic style song.

I'm just me: I'm not a band.
Using guitar and vocal, songwriting is my main musical activity. It's great when others come alongside.
Band/artist history
2000 to 2004, sung in a capella group, Alchemy. Gradually working on demos. May 2004, Kevin Donnelly and Will Cook helped me record my first demo single (for Songs Inspired By Literature compilation but not selected). Invaluable experience.
Now I've mastered some new technology ;) - CD rippers, audio converters, Soundclick - I'm aiming to upload some songs written and co-written in the 50 Songs in 90 Day Challenge, 2001-2004.
Have you performed in front of an audience?
I have performed my songs for church groups, musicales and remembrance days. After the event is better than before!
Your musical influences
Varied! Early influences: folk, 60's pop and rock, blues, jazz, musicals.
Early songwriting idols: Pete Seeger, Bob Dylan, Joni Mitchell, Jackson Browne,Bruce Springsteen, Eric Bogle, Van Morrison. Countless others - including grunge, heavy metal, indie, punk, rap, alternative etc.
What equipment do you use?
I play around with voice, guitar, crappy little keyboard, nice Akimba African drum, clapper sticks made from wood from our wild garden and assorted items including biscuit tins, jars of rice, pots...
Anything else?
My songwriter motto: Keep an ear to the ground and an open mind.
"May you stay forever young." Bob Dylan
