As a fan of golden age hip-hop, J.PRODIGAL defines the true
meaning of the word itself. Hailing from Nashville, TN The MC
has stirred up his community with the release of his 2009 sophmore
album "URBANUITY:THE RENEWAL". Since 1998, J.Prodigal has
maintained toestablish his style of lyrical conciousness on multipule
songs and making jaws drop when publicly freestyling for which he is
mostly known. J.Prodigal's gratefullness to hip-hop is due to meeting
several icons in his time such as MC SHAN, SPARKY D, DJ RED ALERT,
CHUBB ROCK,PLAY(FROM KID & PLAY) He believes in the power of people
coming together for a cause, especially if its something they believe in.
J.Prodigal runs with 187-BLITZ'S N.B.O.(NEW BLOCK ORDER);an elite of
MC's and buisnessmen who work to establish venues throughout the
city for other aspiring artist. The work in progress helps young people
utilize on something more than just hanging on the corner to get by.
Wether music,movies, or television, it can definately happen when you
apply yourself. J.Prodigal along with several other helping hands have
major plans to release a line-up for 2010's catalog of upcoming projects.

I grew up off early 90's hip-hop like Wu,Nas,Talib,Mos Def, & Common.
The more concious hip-hop. I never respected the material flows!
But even before that, I have to mention Rakim,Run DMC, Latifah
Big Daddy Kane,KRS-1,L.L Cool J & all the pioneers of 80's hip-hop.Have you performed in front of an audience?Cafe co-co was a very special live venue for me, its also how i got to
meet several of the hottest local mc's ever! Another recent venue that
has cultivated my city is Soundtherapy.

im mostly inspired by east coast hip-hop
and laid back west coast hip-hop, jazz and neo-soul,

JESUS CHRIST is the reason i am alive and do the songs that i do, my songs come from my heart and my experiences being a christian. It is the power of JESUS in my life that inspires me to write every verse and allow his spirit to work through me when I am performing, I do it for him alone and only him. I give my heart out when i do my songs and the world deserves to know that JESUS is much alive and he loves mankind...
