Multi-instrumentist musician, arranger and composer, Josec Neto begun his music studies with acoustic guitar and electronic organ, moving after to the keyboards and synthesizers. In the year of 1992 started to work with computer music, mainly focused on sound synthesis.
In 1997 starts on saxophone and clarinet, taking lessons with brazilian renowned teachers like Flávio Corilow and Anderson Alves. In the next year begins to research and learn ethnic wind instruments (worldwinds), keeping himself in contact with many musicians around the globe, mastering instruments like the indian flute (bansuri), chinese (dizi), andean (quena, zampogna, tarka), celtic (tinwhistles, irish flute) and arabian (sipsi, kaval), to name a few. In 2003 adds the Wind Controller to his "sound pallete".
Josec Neto played on Unicamp University's "Unibanda" project during 1997-2000 period, besides played on many instrumental groups on diverse music styles, performing on various events in Campinas, Sorocaba and São Paulo neighborhood.
His first New Age solo album (Josec) was released in 2005, entirely produced on his private studio, with good reviews from critic and public. The second album (Sons of the Temple), based on the Order of Knights Templar, is now available.Josec Neto presents on his second CD a tribute to Jacques DeMolay, the last Great-Master from the Order of Knights Templar. By using a 'soundtrack' style, the artist presents some tunes from progressive to atmospheric, within oriental and celtic influences, covering several parts of DeMolay's life and his role on the Order.
Beside his solo work (focused on World Music/ New Age), at the present Josec Neto works with instrumental and pop music with diverse groups, participates as a teacher in flute and windcontroller foruns at Explicasax site (www.explicasax.com.br) and works as music producer and arranger.
