Born and raised in Rochester, NY. Joi Wynn has been a lover of music music since she was young, riding from NY to GA listening to Patti LaBelle, The Isley Brothers and Rod Stewart. She graduated from Columbia College Chicago in May 2010 with her Bachelor's.
"Making music, creating music, music is my passion." She is an engineer first, producer second and then songwriter. Knock That Fire Musik is her family, her team who are all grinding to make it.
Joi's mentor is Missy Elliott. Enough said. Just playing, she admire everything about her from her producing, to her as an artist, to her as a songwriter. "She is truly gifted and talented and I hope to be working for her and with her sooner rather than later."
Joi continues to give God all of the credit for where she is in life. She understands and believe that if it were not for Him she would not be where she is right now. "All of you Lord, none of me!"
Your musical influences
Missy Elliott is definitely my primary musical influence, but it goes beyond her as a musician and into her as a person. She is very down to earth, she is a jokester if I've ever known one. She is humble and kind-hearted.
